Stop and Smell the Roses
September 21, 2016A simple silk square?
October 11, 2016From raggedy jean hems and cold shoulder tops this summer to haphazard holes, multiple splits or just a simple vent in an unusual place. The ideal way to wear this trend is to team with super sleek – torn hems need a tailored jacket or pretty cashmere sweater and a holed jumper needs to be layered over a crisp white shirt and clean jeans – try and get the balance of old and new, girlfriend and tomboy.
Inspiration comes from British designer Zoe Jordan who has amazing knitwear that I first noticed with on-line store Farfetch, a great source of new ideas including these three designs showing sumptuous holes and slashes, all around £350.
High street options come from Asos with an acrylic blend, a great way to play with this textured idea.
More subtle with Jigsaw with tiny spinal holes.
Tiny choker cut out from Asos offers just a hint of skin.
Catwalk inspiration from Isabel Marant showing how to dress shirts under cut out details in knitwear.
It’s a trend to have a go at in just a small way or go full on moth-eaten and scissor crazy!
