December 23, 2015I love a shirt, easy fit, always stylish and the ability to wow people quite simply. Out of choice I would pick a 100% silk, purely for the richness, comfort and ability to machine wash. But there are some great man-mades out there that are too gorgeous to ignore. Shirts are the perfect item for Christmas Day, teamed with jeans or classic black trousers.
Delicate lace number from Zara, it’s a sheer poly, but with pretty side gathers, frill cuffs, and tiny sparkles, this would look stunning layered over a skin tone cami to show all the detail.
For another Victorian style Monsoon have also mastered it, light weight viscose, with little seed pearls, washable (smaller sizes out of stock on-line but try the stores)
Jigsaw khaki silk shirt, loose fit, to wear over a lace cami, left loose or tuck in the front to show your waist, gentle machine wash.
Another classic shirt, Equipment have all the colours in styles with or without pockets, a high quality garment, and dry clean suggested.
Or this Reiss silk chiffon and metallic threads shirt, a beautiful lux sheen, to button up or leave open, tuck in or left loose. This is a dry-clean due to the delicate threads.
I love love love these lace inserts from The Kooples. There are made from a polyester with cotton blend lace, but so pretty I can live with that. This one also comes in a a stunning navy/black.
This pretty style with French lace inserts, looks amazing toughened up with a leather skirt or a dark denim jean. Kooples sizing goes from 0-4, and generally that represents, 0=6, and 4=14, I have found they are quite small in the past, so size up.
For a little more boho attitude Anthropologie have divine choices, I love this one, gorgeous for winter or summer. It does state dry clean but for pure silk I might risk a careful machine wash.
Such an easy shape to make an impact, and room enough to fit in all the festive pies!
