November 5, 201814 Creative Styling ideas for your own Wardrobe
January 21, 2019Happy New Year to you – now, take a deep breath and relax.
Yes there are sales but don’t panic as there will be more discounts and if you miss a specific item this time, don’t fret, other options will be out there.
The modern way to look at sales is to replace clothes you actually need, not just to buy a random item because it seems like amazing value. Yes it’s pretty, yes its hugely reduced but your wardrobe does not need more glitter, sequins and leopard and these will be in abundance!!
What you do need are the basics… jeans, plenty of long sleeved t-shirts, great trousers, mid-height ankle boots and comfy flats and of course, great jackets.
Here are just a few top layer bargains I noticed on the John Lewis site – some with very limited stock.
The Classic Camel Coat – A camel coat has a grown up luxury perfect to throw over jeans and buying oversized allows a jumper too.
The Cardigan Coat – A cardigan coat style for when a coat is too much but a cardigan too casual.
The Overcoat – There is something refreshing about wearing this colour, as it becomes a neutral with all the basics. Use a leather belt if you don’t like the waist tie.
The Leather Jacket – An ideal time to invest in a leather jacket and I love this navy option with detachable collar. Sleek and slimming to wear with midi skirts or over dresses in the spring.
The Waterproof – If you haven’t got a hooded waterproof, you know that the day will come when a brolly won’t be enough.
I would always suggest to buy your coats in neutral tones so they don’t date and keep giving each year until they wear out – brights are fun for special occasions but go easy!!
Time to layer up, but if you are looking for something you can’t find let me know and I will try and find it for you. With love for a happy and healthy year to follow, Kirstie xx
