Always a classic
May 18, 2017Going green again
June 5, 2017A few weeks ago, I invited my friend Sally to travel back to the 70’s with me, to try out the fiddly craft of Macrame at an event put on by Anthropologie in Guildford. Not knowing what to expect, we turned up to a table prepared with hoops and cut lengths of rope, ready to create. Sitting upstairs, in the middle of the shop we knotted and looped and after a few hours of expert tuition, had made a hanging basket, complete with a golden pot and fern. Result. Ok its not perfect, but from a distance, there are knots of a kind, if not intended.
A glass of bubbly or juice helped us along and we really enjoyed the chance to learn, make and laugh at the same time. Obviously we also shopped the store afterwards to use our redeemable booking fee of £25 from the overwhelming choice of goodies.
If you are local to Guildford, the next event is on the 24th June, entitled Happiness and Health Workshop, which seems fitting for these days. Here is the link to all the diverse events lined up for June including Guildford, Richmond, Bath, Edinburgh and London stores. Based on the my experience, I can thoroughly recommend them for a fun few hours of creative learning.
If you ever need cheering up, I find Anthropologie helps, with the hit of colour, print, and amazing store displays, I come away feeling in love with clothes again, inspired to experiment.
